Weekly themed Montessori preschool summer camp program helps Maryland children stay active, engaged, and learning all summer long.
ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Children’s Manor & Children’s Magnet Montessori Schools (CMMS), a family-run network of Montessori schools serving children across Maryland, is excited to announce its 2026 Summer Program. Running from June 29 through August 21, 2026, the program will be offered at 10 campus locations across Baltimore County, Harford County, Howard County, and Montgomery County. This summer camp program is open for students ages 2 through 7.Â
The Montessori summer program combines hands-on learning, outdoor activities, creative exploration, and enrichment experiences, keeping children engaged even when school is out. The program is open to both current CMMS students and new families looking for a high-quality summer camp or childcare option in Maryland.
Preventing Summer Learning Loss Through Hands-On Activities
Research shows many children experience summer learning loss when academic skills decline over long breaks. CMMS’s summer program helps prevent this by creating a structured environment where children continue growing academically, socially, and emotionally. Guided by Montessori principles, students are encouraged to explore, problem-solve, and discover while following their natural curiosity.
Weekly Themes to Spark Curiosity
Each week of the summer program has a unique theme designed to inspire creativity and learning. Themes for the 2026 program include:
- Fireworks, Folklore, and Family – Discovering American history and culture
- Inventors and Thinkers – Exploring inventions, simple machines, and problem-solving
- World Cup Wonder – Sports, teamwork, and movement activities
- To Infinity & Beyond – Hands-on STEM and creative exploration of planets, constellations, and the Milky Way
- Deep Blue Sea – Marine science, ocean habitats, and water-based activities
- Imagination Unleashed – Painting, music, theater, dance, and artistic expression
- STEMsational Mythbusters – Science, technology, engineering, and math challenges
- Eco Explorers – Learning about ecosystems, sustainability, and caring for our planet
These themes rotate weekly, giving children the chance to explore new topics, try new activities, and form friendships along the way.
Enrichment, Outdoor Play, and Field Trips
In addition to the weekly themes, the program offers a variety of enrichment activities to keep children active and engaged, such as: Art and creative expression, Music and performing arts, STEM experiments and exploration, Outdoor games and sports, including water day, Yoga and movement, and Field trips and special events
This mix of activities helps children develop new skills, stay physically active, and discover new interests in a fun, safe environment.
